The Good Shepherd Cross shows Christ carrying the lost sheep on His shoulders, surrounded by His flock, a reminder of the shepherd who seeks the one who is lost and carries it home. Above Him, the descending dove represents the Holy Spirit.
Handcrafted in Nazareth from olive wood, the cross is set with a detailed silver toned metal relief with an antique finish that brings out the figures and texture of the scene. The natural grain and warm tones of the olive wood surround the image, making each cross slightly different.
The design is widely associated with the pectoral cross worn by Pope Francis, yet its meaning comes from one of the oldest and most enduring images of Christ: the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep and cares for each one.
